about

Bob hoot has created a video that started out with a simple guitar and vocal in one continuous take. Then he added a harmony here, and a slide guitar there. Soon, he had 10 tracks making himself the Hollers on this tune. While HOOT and Hollers usually does original material, this is a cover titled Detroit City written by Danny Dill and Mel Tillis. It has been covered by Bobby Bare, Tom Jones and Dolly Pardon — to name a few. Hoot has always liked the song, perhaps because he was born in Detroit and spent the first 18 years of his life there. Special thanks to Landon Arkens for mixing and mastering the track.
